Ending the Year

Things had been really busy.

So busy to the extent I had been sick and developed a certain skin condition caused by cold weather and stress. It’s not just work, it’s everything. My body seemed to be in constant motion from too many activities and it had its toll.

I am reminded that the reason we are humans and we become tired, is because we are not of Supreme specie and that WE have a limit. Sure, the computers may best us in every aspect of survival. Computers don’t get tired, they don’t eat, they don’t sleep, etc. But we can’t argue the fact they do not have feelings and that is something all living species can thank divine intervention for.

Our activities remind us of our existence and our tiredness remind us of our humility as not the only living things in this world.

I don’t know why I am thinking these deep thoughts. I haven’t blogged for a long time and I’m missing the feel of my fingers typing over the keyboard placing in random thoughts. It’s a good feeling. It’s a good feeling to socialize even if it is online. It is good to feel connected to other people. It is good to feel accomplishment for the nearing end of this year.

But I am reminded that next year may bring more responsibilities, activities and hardships… and I must remind myself to have fun in return. ^^

Holiday Shopping, For the People I Have a Hard Time Shopping For

It’s that time of the year again. It’s November. The ‘ber’ months are the signal of upcoming Christmas holidays, the time of good cheer, good deeds and gift giving. This is the time to start being jolly, forget any misgivings, give love to everyone… Okay, I’ll stop being sappy. LOL. One distinct aspect of the holidays is the gifts, but these could also the hardest thing to prepare.

For me, the hardest part of this season is to buy gifts for your family. I never realized the burden of this task until I needed to buy them gifts with my own money. Sometimes, you know what they want but you don’t have enough cash to boot and when you try to find an alternative, they seem not to fit the what you need.

Cash and quality and appropriateness to the individual the gifts will go to. These are elements that can hold promise or hinder anyone from finding the perfect gift. Currently, I am thinking what to buy my dad and sister. I am thankful they are not the types to force what they want as presents and I pretty well know what they want.

My dad is very much into cologne, polo shirts and practical stuff like an organizer, wallet, a cluth-bag etc. My sister on the other hand would crave for gadget presents such as an mp3 player, an iPod or maybe even a new cellphone. As you can see, gifts for her could be pretty steep so I might as well make do with some cosmetic products since she is so into those. But when things get topsy-turvy, since I am not the type to spend hours shopping for gifts because of the holiday shopping rush, I’d take into option giving her money for her to spend on anything she wants. As for my dad, he would also appreciate imported wines though he is the type to indulge more on local wine brands.

*sigh* This is going to take some time to plan, especially since I do have to think of holiday gift ideas for my friends and boyfriend. Actually I made a joke to some on ‘practical’ christmas presents for them. You ask what are those? Hehe…

You see I have a friend, who sells cheap DVDs. She always updates her merchandise with the latest and popular flicks. So I mentioned to her that one day, I may give her a list of my friends with each having their favorite film genre placed beside their name. That way, my DVD selling friend will select an appropriate DVD film for each friend and I would give that as a present. LOL. Well everybody accepts DVD as presents and it’s pretty easy to know what kind of movie or series an individual wants just by conversing with them right? So DVD’s in a way are great gifts. Hahaha!

Oh well… I have to take more time planning this. I have more than a month to plan. XD
