Passive Income, Not Ultimately Passive

As the title connotes, Passive Income comes off with a definition of earning income without too much participation in its creation. The web provides a perfect channel for this subject via quality contents that drives traffic into a website and hopefully transforms into a purchase of a product or additional clicks or impressions for ads.

While the subject holds true to its purpose, a lot of people get frustrated when they purchase a promising “Once-in-a-Lifetime Be A Millionaire Chance in Autopilot” software. They would purchase a $49+ software which promises automatic quality content to a website with the goal of changing hits or impressions into extra income. Usually, these software are conducive to blogs of article directories but the underlying effect of these methods are not clearly known to everyone.

While it’s easy to see the advantages of having such softwares do all the work, a lot of disadvantages can occur in the long run.

1) Think about it, if many have purchased the same content and installed it on different servers, then generate content from the same sources (usually article directories or blog feeds), where is the originality in that? Readers aren’t that stupid to know if a content is generated or labored upon the web-owner. Initially, the information they may be looking for may come from your site. Later on though, they would intend to go to the place where the article came from instead of going to your site.

2) won’t it look like template type if everything runs automatically without a personal touch. Content is automatically pulled from other websites from these softwares. The content may or may not contain images, videos, flash, etc. Usually, these content are from Public Label Rights (PLR) articles and these consists of merely texts with author informations at the bottom. It would look boring and too “lazy” for a reader seeing an already very formal “article-type” post with no seeming visual effort from the web-owner.

3) Sure, there are also softwares that even sets up an online store for you
to sell products from. The software consists of great template customized prduct catalogue, shopping cart option, great administration panel, etc. But can you see the originality in this. Someone out there may have purchased the same software as you did. The originality or personal touch is gone from this kind of work. Readers aren’t usually into that. Readers go first for information before any product purchase.

4) For Blogs, a lot of people think they could just type anything under the sun and expect money to roll in. While it may hold true for some non-niche blogs, it still consists of a lot of regular updates to keep visitors interested and coming back to the blog. This will lead us to…

4) Nobody can expect continous income from a blog that started out strong then was left on hiatus after a while. A lot of people gets the misconception that blogging is an easy way to earn passive income. It’s been continously reminded that placing a blog, especially niche blog, on a long hiatus may result to missing great link opportunities, loyal followers, SEO keyword opportunities, etc. Updating with quality content is very important.

As you can see, it’s no walk in the park. More so, the web is continously evolving. It changes so fast, so many theories and developments needs to be studied and applied thoroughly (and immediately) to keep up with the working trends. The only thing to do to keep up with the pace is to work on the web with something you really are passionate about. If you like blogging about politics, make a political blog. If you feel strongly about having an online fotune-telling website, then embed that magic ball on the web and do your magic. If you are a writer, write what you love extensively online. If you are a photographer, make a photo blog.

If you think about it there are many ways to generate passive income online. I was surprised upon searching in Google, I found videos of the subject in Youtube. As I’m not sure if these would deliver (as I think some are scams but that is another story and post/s altogether), I would let you guys be the judges and freely comment on these videos either here or on their respecitive youtube pages.

The videos included below are those I think will provide some good information about Passive Income. Please note that I am not connected in any way to the videos’ sources and what-nots. Again, these are here for informational purposes.

The opportunities are endless. Please do not limit yourself with beliefs of easy passive income just because the term connotes not much action involved. It does, you will just have to learn how to make it work for you in the long run.

I found a video that I really like because of its personal touch in relating how the mom does passive income for her family.
