Traumatic Day 2
Sad to say, they were unable to recover my files. I’m not sure how our temporary IT man did it but our overall project manager said it was something about recovering deleted files from FAT clusters or something (my mind was in a fog to try to understand). A total of 48GB+ of files were recovered but they weren’t mine. They were the files of previous employees of the company. Some are even corrupted and infected with trojans. *sigh*
Hard lesson learned, save your own files especially if your PC is going to reformatted. If its somebody else who will do the process, make sure they got the folder name correct in their list or you’re dead.
There are many ways (and softwares) that could recover files after reformat but they cost a lot. The cheapest I saw was around $69 (in my currency that would be more than 5,000Php, argh).
If anyone knows a no-cost way to resolve this kind of problem, please don’t hesitate to share. It will be a great help to those who will be in the same predicament as I was.
