“The Secret” to Money: Real or Not?

In case you haven’t seen The Secret, check out the trailer here:

I’m sure you have heard the world-wide phenomenon called “The Secret”. It talks about the Law of Attraction that states that your life is a result of the things you think about. It concerns metaphysical aspects of the universe granting you ANYTHING you want as long as you do its three stages:

Asking the Universe for what you want is your opportunity to get clear about what you want. As you get clear in your mind, you have asked.

Believing involves acting, speaking, and thinking as though you have already received what you’ve asked for. When you emit the frequency of having received it, the law of attraction moves people, events, and circumstances for you to receive.

Receivinginvolves feeling the way you will feel once your desire has manifested. Feeling good now puts you on the frequency of what you want.

I admit I too have been deeply affected by The Secret. I was awed and inspired by the teachings stated in the film I actually believed each and every word. As time went by though, I began to be doubtful of its teachings.

  • The in-born cynic probably got its time to rear its head but I began to think that just thinking is not going to work on its own. Motivation and action still is the end key to success. So you can’t go rich if you are a couch potato watching TV (or this flick for that matter) all day long.
  • As much as the film clearly motivates any individual to do their best in making money, you have to admit there is not much scientific or experimentation done to prove the theory. Most of the things you’ll find there are scattered anecdotes and what-nots. Yes, I know that not everything in this world can be explained but living in such a reality calls some proof. Somehow, it wasn’t clearly emphasized that the people, who claimed that The Secret worked for them, worked really hard to achieve their dreams through positive thinking and ACTION. The film somehow only worked in the meta-physical sense which I think is fine as long as you don’t believe word per word. I admit though, that if the people interviewed in the film indeed got what they want due to The Secret, I’m pretty envious.
  • I can’t easily way I will believe that everything that happens on Earth happens because of Law of Attraction. Do you think earthquakes, tsunamis, calamities happen because people want them too? Do you think people die from hostage taking, rapes, murders because they feel like leaving the Earth? I don’t think so.

Don’t get me wrong though. I think The Secret is a very strong tool for self-improvement on good, physical well-being and inspiration. For that aspect, I’m hands down since I tend to use its visualization tools to uplift my spirits most of the time. It helps to remind me of ideas and dreams I seem to forget amidst a fast-paced routine in everyday life. Giving a few minutes each day viewing the videos puts me back on the tracks… that I do have big dreams just waiting for me to grasp them and that the ‘push’ is inside me waiting to take its action to make my life better.

I can give you my word that viewing these tools gives a good feeling of positive-thinking. Try it for yourself. It works.

May I remind you not to believe that I am not promoting EVERYTHING The Secret talks about. As stated above, I too have doubts over its teachings. But I do not go against its side of being a great positive-thinking tool on self-improvement. I give merit to its production.

I was able to download a file of some courses The Secret’s money making chapters from its audio file (I forgot where I got this. It was given by a friend). You can check listen to the tracks on your spare time to get a feel of the “Money Making Aspects” of the flick.

You could also try to learn more of making money without the metaphysical stuff by going through some searches like what I got below from searching through Google.

How about you? What do you think of The Secret?
