I may not be the most determined person in learning a language. Heck, I took formal lessons in Japanese a few years ago and now I have forgotten a lot about the subject and having a hard time placing a routine in learning the language again.

But my love for the language didn’t stop me from having my time reading and listening to japanese related materials. Reading workbooks, textbooks, mangas and listening to anime DVDs, jpop albums and such had become a part of my life. I also reached the phase of listening to other Asian languages like Chinese and Korean.

Now my sister is learning French in her school curriculum and I’m regretting all lessons I had in my former language school. I want to go back. I want to learn other languages, particularly Asian. Recently, I’m taking a particular interest to learn chinese as it is considered as the business language and it would help a lot with expanding professional careers. As of the moment, since I am out of though, I’m taking my time surfing language related sites in my leisure time. Taking time out to learn a few vocabularies and phrases at first is a big help. My aim is to integrate myself to Asian culture as much as possible.

I found a site wherein you learn chinese. It’s a pretty simple site wherein navigation is really simple and it lets you find materials you need to access for your learning spree. Though for me, it would be better if there were also a bit more of information regarding the Chinese culture to base the learning experience upon on. Also, there are pages wherein its obvious you need to have Chinese language package installed in your PC to view Chinese characters. There should be a page catered to that.

On the aesthetics side, it would help to give the site a more Chinese feel. Jazz up the site with the typical colors of China (red and gold), a few pictures, icons etc. It would be more fun to have those.

Nevertheless, it’s a good resource for Chinese materials for learning. Check the site out for yourself. :)
