I’m having hangover about ice skating!
I just finished watching Blades of Glory featuring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder. Two male ice skating champions battle out for the gold medal in an ice skating competition and ended up fighting over a ‘tie’ win. They made a brawl on live broadcast and was sentenced by the ice skating federation to be stripped of their titles and banned lifetime from their ice skating category.
Three years after the incident they get together and formed the first ‘male and male’ double of the industry. Their ‘history in the making’ scenario overshadowed other famed paired ice skaters and did stunts no other ‘male – female’ partnership can do. Intimate stunts. Yes, you could imagine itls GAY, and though the movie did lack a bit of wit despite its humorous aspect, it did shell a lot of senseless laughter for the viewer. I think it’s just impossible for anyone not to laugh especially when they see the *cough* intimate stunts the two lead actors did. *snickers*

After seeing this, I can’t help but be reminded of another ice skating movie titled Ice Castles, a 1978 movie, which starred Lynn-Holly Johnson, a girl who dreamt to be a world-famous ice skater, when tragedy striked and she lost her sight. She hid into despair but later on persevered and returned to compete in an ice skating competition. It is a wonderful story of inspiration and perseverance and it leaves the moral of hope for everyone who sees it. Try to view her performance at the video below. Be reminded, she is blind by this part of the story and yet… you have to fall in love with her dance. :)

Since I was already in youtube, I took the initiative to check out any other ice skating videos I could find and I cannot help but internally squeal in delight (I’m in the office XD) when I found this *cough* sexy (and yet GAY-LIKE) performance of an ice skater named Evgeny Plushenko to the song Sex Bomb by Tom Jones and Mousse T. It is just so hilarious! I could almost see myself inserting some bills on him if I were there! Bwahahahaha!
