Found Newborn Kitten

As I groggily took on the morning chores early this morning, I heard this meowing sound from the back garden. The sound was distinctively hungry and when I checked it out, it was a newborn kitten alone on the slightly tall grass, slowly crawling with its eyes still closed and face slightly smudged with dirt. It probably fell from a high place after its birth and was desperately calling for its mother for milk. My heart melted but I have no idea how to take care of a newborn kitten and I don’t have any materials to feed it.

I wore my rubber household gloves before plucking if off the ground because it already has tiny claws that scratched my skin on my first attempt to pick the little darling up. When I carried it inside and held it on my chest, it started to quiet down and wiggle around my chest, probably grateful for the warmth and looking for milk.

But I didn’t have any milk!

I told my dad of the dilemma. He gave this solution of giving the kitten to our neighbor, who absolutely adores cats and has about more than 20 of them in every nook and corner of her house she shares with her sister. The sisters are both quiet, good old-maids so their pets are their children and takes good care of them.

I readily agreed. I immediately looked for a cardboard box, placed the kitten in it and placed the box by the laundry area so it wouldn’t feel to confined in the house (and my dad was annoyed by its loud meowing). Before I left for work, I checked on the box and the kitten was gone. My sister told me the mother probably took the kitten as she saw this adult cat earlier, which was formerly pregnant and hang around the house weeks before.

I am glad the two got together. ^^

Below is a video I took with my cellphone while I was still holding the kitten. Sorry for the poor resolution. It’s all I had at the moment. I also can’t help it that the kitten was too hyper to sit still. XD
