Facebook’s apps are stress-relievers
I’ve been in the social networking phase for this past few weeks and Facebook is one of my favorite online hangouts. With its various applications, I don’t get tired being in constant interaction with online friends. I guess that is what Social Networking is all about. It’s finding an accessible way and fun methods to be in constant communication with not only family and friends but also with business colleagues and acquaintances. Such functionality broadens our networks and helps us build relationships which will progressively become positive assets of the future.
I consider Facebook number 1 in providing numerous interactive games for its users. I especially adore Pet Society, YoVille and FooPets. My problem with these games are, you have to be constantly online to continuously monitor the upgrade or growth of your characters. If you don’t have the luxury of time, you’ll find yourself frustrated you can’t keep up with the progress of your friends’ characters’ status and you can’t avail of some items you want for your characters.
For a lot of people this would sound very childish or a bit of the obsessive. Life would not stop revolving if you didn’t visit your pet for a day or so and you certainly wouldn’t be gaining anything besides virtual goods that would only be useful online. But for others, especially creative thinkers, such things are a part of growth. Interaction, games, visuals, such things are part of our lives that constantly being in their presence gives us sanity away from the strict commercial work or burdens of real life. You may call Facebook applications as stress relievers if you may. Simple forms of short-time interactions between work to bring balance in a routine lifestyle. Yes, I am proud to say I may become a bit of a fanatic over Facebook apps but no worries, it has not completely taken over my life.

Currently, I’m really enjoying this new app called Restaurant City. You can build and manage your own restaurant, hire your workers (which are your selected friends), build your menu, and work your way strategically in maintaining the upmost service of your restaurant. One good feature about this app is, once you start your restaurant, it will run on its own afterwards. It will work on its own even if you are offline. Of course, challenges will still apply, such as your employees getting tired after hours of work and will eventually stop working if you don’t get back online and give them some energy booster to continue working. It’s really fun! I intend to take care of this app longer than those I’ve played before. It’s similar to the old game Sim City but this one has cute moving characters consisting you, your facebook friends and other facebook members! Neat! Try it out!
