Doodles
I’m in a phase of doodling. I doodle on my moleskine when I have the time. Naturally, there is no initial concept for these doodles. When I’m finished with them I try to see what phrase comes up to mind and that is how I name my doodles. ^_^
My moleskine notebook was a gift from my officemate last Christmas. It was on my wishlist but in truth I didn’t know back then what to place in it. When I thought of ideas to place on its pages, I didn’t feel comfortable tainting its perfect white pages with my work. I know it sounds weird but that was how I felt. No perfect idea came to mind that would satisfactory be a work of art in my standards. I admit I am not expert freehand artist, nor can I make perfect photo edits similar to Photoshop masters so I felt it would be a waste of moleskine pages if I didn’t feel good about it. Then I realized, I love abstracts. I love to make revolving initial meaningless aesthetics of lines and shades. Then, I began to doodle. Doodle after work and before I go to sleep. It’s a good change after more than 8 hours of being in front of the PC (work and personal necessities). Working with traditional art do have its merits.
Besides that, it’s a perfect break from commercial work. Bringing out personal creativity has its set of satisfaction and wow, I haven’t realized just how much I missed.
I just updated my deviantart account with my recent doodles. You can check out the thumbnails below or go straight to my gallery if you want.
