Charice Pempengco returned to Korean TV talent show, Starking, and wowed the Korean stars and talent with her strong and lovely voice. She even brought tears to a member of a K-pop girl group.

Charice actually came to the show in 2007 where she made a huge impact and sang “A Whole New World” with Super Junior’s Kyuhyun.

Last July 24 when she made her appearance in Starking, Charice sang an array of songs including a medley of Whitney Houston, which consisted of “When you Believe”, and she sang with Korean singer So Hyang. Charice and f(x)’s Luna also sang “One Moment in Time,” which got the latter teary-eyed. The Filipino singer then sang “Pyramid,” which is the title track of her first international album.

Korean stars who were there included members of Super Junior, CNBlue, f(x) and SHINee.

It was funny how the Korean stars took turns in shaking Charice’s hand as if she were some diety and they appear shy getting near her. Also, watching the videos, it is obvious in the Korean star’s faces how awed they are (and how they got goosebumps) from hearing her sing.

This latest performance of Charice on “Star King” earned her praises on YouTube.

One of these read: “Charice, you, my girl was awesome, really! You’re up a head, very strong performance, we can really see that you enjoyed your third time on the show.”

Another lauded: “Wow she still amazes me. Her talent is, as Kang Ho Dong (the ‘Star King’ emcee) would say, unbelievable!”

Below are the videos stated for your viewing pleasure.

I’m not so sure if men would find this fun or appealing. LOL

So I’m sending this to all my “girlfriends” to try this out. It’s really fun!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
Don’t tell me your age; you’d probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know!
This is pretty neat.
DON’T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute …
Work this out as you read …
Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you’ve worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it’s fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 — I’ll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1760 … If you haven’t, add 1759..
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number.
The first digit of this was your original number (i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2010) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.
I was once a SIMS fan. I absolutely love the concept of “playing” god wherein a few cheats (especially for getting money) could bring you the house you want and enjoy the free time for interactions you can have with other SIMS since your SIM wouldn’t have to work.
The evolution of SIMS started from simple “make-your-house-then-live-the-best” scenario to generating more expansions for neighborhood interactions, added vacations, magical treats, added actions, etc. Later on, SIMS 2 came into the picture, wherein added graphic features became a marvel to behold and expansion sets had become more intricate and “realistic” for the gamer. SIMS 3 came into the picture with multi-player features to catch up with the net craze of online interactions.
SIMS had become one of the most popular games around and as long as online chat and human instinct to escape to a virtual world exists, it will stay.
Suddenly missing playing SIMS, I went to Youtube to see how others fare in playing (or destroying) SIMS lives. And boy, I found pretty crazy and bizarre videos. 0_0
Just recently, I purchased a DVD containing collection of Hard Gay performances. He indeed, is an epitome of skilled humour in the form of a very masculine “gay” persona.
Hard Gay is a very popular Japanese comedian in Japan. His real name is Masaki Sumitani more popularly known in the showbiz industry as Razor Ramon Sumitani, occasionally HG (for short of Hard Gay).
His first profession was actually as a pro wrestler, a career he garnered from a hobby in college while taking up Commerce. During his college years, together with a friend, he auditioned on a live stage performance for 2chome-gekijo, an Osaka comedy club at which many comedians from Kansai started their career.
Among all characters he portrayed, the most famous that garnered him much fame is Hard Gay, introduced in 2002. The term “Hado Gei” is a Japanese reference to West, specifically, American gay subculture similar to “punk”. The term hard gay became a reference to a more masculine oriented “drag”. Dressing around in tight black PVC gay fetish outfit, he goes around different parts of Japan performing acts of charity or social improvement activities. He usually takes on unsuspecting bystanders for his “victims” by surprising them with his trademark pelvic thrusts and vocalizations. His trademark theme song is “Livin La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin.
Hard Gay – Father’s Day (Subtitled)
I know, so gay right? XD
I know many people are ticked off by his character. Some would say he is too vulgar or too obscene, depending on the point of view of the individual. According to a spokesperson of Hokkaido Sexual Minority Association Sapporo Meeting, a support group for gay, lesbian and transgender people:
“Hard Gay’s acceptance by the Japanese public shows me that there is a strong tendency here to see homosexuality as something to be laughed at. That is sad.”
I will admit at times his antics are pretty far-fetched, loud and awkward. But it does not overlook the overall aspect of his performance, which is to make a name for himself, give fun to the viewers and at a specific angle, have the majority accept the third gender as they are.
Hard Gay Ramen (Subtitled)
I have heard comments that children aren’t supposed to see HG’s antics especially with regards to his pelvic thrusts and sometimes sexual connotations. But who are we to say these things when the adults are not doing much “filterations” against mature content often seen in television shows, print ads, movies, internet and other forms of media. Adults tend only notice the “obvious” or “glaring” and take action on it.
WE tend to take it for granted that television will provide the necessary PG or GP ratings for us to be aware of the genre of a show. We don’t notice the subtle effects of media to young minds. Don’t you think cartoons have a bit of violence in them? Don’t you think current events, even if knowing present history is required in school, do cost a bit of confusion for the children? Do you think variety shows are okay just because they sing and dance and you are okay with the skimpy outfits and at times sleazy performances done on stage?
Based on the quotation stated above, I think we have to be more open-minded on this aspect since third-sex issue is still a very sensitive topic nowadays. Society has strict rules on gender and for an icon to pave the way of third-sex appearances can, as I perceive it, threatening for some. What is new can be quite unnerving to look at. It may take some time to get used to. But it does not mean we have to judge a book by its cover. No one wants to be judged and even if HG might be getting a lot of criticism, he sure indeed is not showing any stress about it.
Hard Gay Sakura Viewing (Subtitled)
No, I don’t think the third sex is something to be laughed at. Nor should they be treated differently or be given unequal rights as the rest of us. They are humans too, you know. Born by humans, raised by humans. Don’t you think we all have a part on why these came about? As an old adage says, we are all brothers and sisters, regardless of race and color. Why can’t it be with gender?
HG bring laughter and joy to everyone involved. Despite his all-to-much pelvic thrusts and “Hooooooooo!” or “Foooooooooo!” running joke moments, he is indeed an icon of something modern, trendy at the same time vulgarishly obvious but at the same time holds a loving appeal to our hearts.
Many has asked me, “Is he truly gay?”
Without an answer, I once did a research and it turned he is STRAIGHT and is married to Anna Suzuki last November 2006.
At a personal note, when I first found out he was once a pro-wrestler, I though he did it for kinky stuff. LOL. Oh well, there goes my fantasy… Meep!
Hard Gay Yahoo 1/2 (Subtitled)
You also have to take note despite his “loud” persona, his messages do take on a social improvement theme. How many variety segment shows would focus on finding ways to make children eat hated vegetables, or coach a very shy kendo student to profess his feelings to a girl he cares deeply about, or even make people not throw thrash everywhere during sakura viewings. I know the answer is yes, there are other shows that does those. But not all could make the actual “victims” and viewers take notice of what is being said. HG has done these things flawlessly since it is indeed HARD not to notice him. How could you ignore a masculine “drag” individual especially since he is talking to you with a megaphone in his hand?
HG does have his quirks but he is a loving individual. Whatever criticism others say, I came to look at HG as a talented person. Not all could do what he is doing and he has proven that a bit of loud quirkiness could indeed change the world.
Thank you to Chloebelle I discovered yesterday the awesomely cute and cuddly looking social avatars. The game interface and objective is similar to Tinierme, wherein your customized avatar has to travel different places, shops and create interactions to other avatars in order to ‘level-up’ your look, avatar home and the likes.
Currently, the one found in Facebook is English beta. So if you do some research on the original Ameba Pico game, you might find it disappointing some of the cool places in the Japanese version are not yet available in the Facebook version. Well, we have to wait. Good thing I observed is there is almost daily updates on items, places and things you can do in Pico. I believe the Ameba Pico english staff is working very hard to bring the original Pico into Facebook asap. Regardless of their pace, I believe they are already doing a good job and I can’t wait for more!
I researched more on the cheats and tricks you can do in Ameba Pico. So far, here are a few things I found:
/big : grow
/min : shrink
/sit : sit
/stand : stand up
/zzz : sleep
/panda: panda
/nekohebi: cat
/hungry: spoon and fork
/heart: heart
/kiss: lips
/insp: inspiration
/conf: confused
/zzz then /stand: stand up with eyes closed
To see and hear the original Japanese Amoeba Pico, watch the video below!
Even if you don’t understand Japanese, its actually cute!
April Fools is that one time of the year to make an excuse in making pranks to other people.
I don’t mind being played prank on, as long as I don’t get hurt of course! I mean really, I wouldn’t want to have a scar on my body just because of a prank right?
April Fools Day is not a celebrated thing in my country but I still get to be a victim of pranks, not personally but ONLINE! Geesh, the ways of the internet! Haha!
Completely curious on what best hoaxes had been done before, I found this site detailing summarizing The Top 100 April Fool’s Day Hoaxes of All Time. These were judged by notoriety, creativity, and number of people duped.
1. The Swiss Spaghetti Harvest
2. Sidd Finch
3. Instant Color TV
4. The Taco Liberty Bell
5. San Serriffe
6. Nixon for President
7. Alabama Changes the Value of Pi
8. The Left-Handed Whopper
9. Hotheaded Naked Ice Borers
10. Planetary Alignment Decreases Gravity
… and many more!
Now, I’m pretty sure everyone is curious what is that ONE THING that fooled me online.
Well, here it is!
Yes. That supposedly freakin’ awesome movie trailer for Legend of Zelda is an April Fools HOAX! Arrrgh! Being a Zelda fan I was majorly disappointed. But I have to give them two thumbs up for the the effort. It is that good!
Japanese food are often connected with images of noodles, rice, meat and a lot of vegetables. All of these in harmonizing colors and aroma depicting the richness of Japan culture.
I stumbled upon this Youtube channels featuring a collection of videos with a dog (yes a dog) as it’s host and a woman cooking various Japanese Noodles in a very easy, fluid way.
The dog narrates the cooking process in English in a somehow British-and-Japanese combination in tone. You need to hear it to understand me. XD
What ties me to this channel is its homey atmosphere and seemingly fast-to-cook recipes (and a dog for it’s host!). I already subscribed to its channel and I think you guys should too! Just because you aren’t Japanese does not mean you cannot try these recipes. They really look good!
