Being a web designer means exposure on information overload. Being human, I need a place to help me organize that information.

Wordpress 2.6!

You won’t believe my horror yesterday when this whole blog went DOWN after I updated to Wordpress 2.6. @_@

I literally panicked I ended up trying to fixing this blog at work (hiding from my boss, of course). At the end though, I was unable to do a database repair in my phpmyadmin, I contacted my blog’s server’s tech support asking for help. I’m so happy they responded promptly to my call!

I gave my ticket before lunch hour and my blog was fixed by late afternoon! Whew! Thank goodness!

I’m so happy I’m going to blog about Lights Out Philippine Yaoi Convention.

Rich Dad Poor Dad Video

Besides Financial Guru Francisco J. Colayco, another Financial Expert I came to adore is Robert Kiyosaki, author of bestseller, Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Just like Francisco J. Colayco, Robert Kiyosaki points out essentials on values to not be focused on working for money. Rather, the best approach to financial wealth is to make money work for you.

The video below shows Robert Kiyosaki explaining the analysis of business personalities that is a focal point of his book, The Cash Flow Quadrant.

After watching the video, did his words resonate something inside you? Are you still going to continue joining in the mainstream of corporate ethics to supposedly build your financial portfolio?

If you would like to see more of Robert Kiyosaki’s videos, you could go here for a list.

You could check out some of this publications to learn more of Robert Kiyosaki’s teachings:

Blogs in Simple English

When I first started out in blogging, I thought of it as a plain diary placed online. Though a diary is initially thought of as something private, blogs still serve the same purpose with the advantage of anonymity online. Besides that it’s easier to add pictures, doodles, texts and other media files to an entry, it’s no wonder a lot of people had taken the craze of blogging to a higher level. With the evolution of technology, not only has blogging become a personal output but it has become as social networking and marketing tool for various business opportunities.

But what is blogging really? If you search in Google, the first result will lead you to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog. I quote:

A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs.[1] With the advent of video blogging, the word blog has taken on an even looser meaning of any bit of media wherein the subject expresses his opinion or simply talks about something.

If you search even further, you will find hundreds (and I bet thousands) of more links discussing how to best use each blog functionality integrated in its system. Before anyone undergoes the nitty-gritty detail of advanced blogging, it wouldn’t hurt to go back to the basics and have a fresh look (on low-cost production and old-school look) on the concept of blogging.

I find this video very well made too. ^^

Results Detection

A new way of garnering huge traffic to your niche websites is making its presence known.

The fundamental idea of Results Detection is to find what is already successful on the web and use that information to generate traffic to your own online projects. This idea is not a new concept for marketing professionals, but there does seem to be somewhat of a mystery for beginners to grasp.
