Wordpress 2.6!

You won’t believe my horror yesterday when this whole blog went DOWN after I updated to Wordpress 2.6. @_@

I literally panicked I ended up trying to fixing this blog at work (hiding from my boss, of course). At the end though, I was unable to do a database repair in my phpmyadmin, I contacted my blog’s server’s tech support asking for help. I’m so happy they responded promptly to my call!

I gave my ticket before lunch hour and my blog was fixed by late afternoon! Whew! Thank goodness!

I’m so happy I’m going to blog about Lights Out Philippine Yaoi Convention.

Full Moon o Sagashite; A great love story

This is one of the best anime series I have ever seen in a Looooong Time! It has great characters, simple but amazing exhibition of the plot, memorable moments to remember, and a great soundtrack to boot! It amazes, pulls on heartstrings and makes one want to watch it over and over again. The genre may not be amazing to everyone but I believe the series takes into great consideration about what power a heart can do. Yes, I may be talking about fiction, but upon watching the series, it makes one believe on life’s simple realities and on what hope could really do against many obstacles.

NOTE: To those currently watching Full Moon o Sagashite, if you don’t want to be spoiled, please do not continue to read. Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you. ^_^

I have to give a brief introduction on what is happening at the first part of the series before the climactic moment shown in the video below. (I can’t help it! I want to share this soooooo much!!!!)

A twelve year old girl, Mitsuki, made a promise two years ago to her best friend in the orphanage, that when they meet again they would be nearer in accomplishing their dreams. Her best friend, Eichi, has the goal of being an astronomer, while Mitsuki, dreams to be a singer. Eichi-kun then left for America, together with his adoptive parents.

Unfortunately for Mitsuki, she has a tumor on her throat, impeding her progress on working to her dream. Her illness never stopped her though. She continued to sing and loving music, despite her grandmother’s passion to not let her sing. She secretly sent a demo tape to a singing audition and got in. On the day of the callback, Mitsuki was pondering on how to get to the audition without her grandmother knowing, when two Shinigami’s, Takuto and Meruko, came to ber bedroom and gave her the news that she only has one year to live. Upon hearing that, Mitsuki grew more determined to become a singer in that year, claiming she will do her best to get her voice heard across the ocean, to America so Eichi-kun will hear her.

Takuto, admiring Mitsuki for her determination to pursue singing, used his magic to transform Mitsuki into a 16 year old year girl, later called Full Moon (oncam name), amd later became a very popular singer indeed, garnering a lot of fans and publicity in short time. Takuto transforms Mitsuki into Full Moon when neccessary. As full moon, Mitsuki becomes perfectly healthy, with no trace of tumor in her throat.

Mitsku became best friend with her two shinigamis. They protect and help her in everything she does. As the series progresses, its obvious that something deeper is developing between Takuto and Mitsuki but they didn’t get to dwell much about that since Mitsuki’s heart is set on one day meeting Eichi again.

But that isn’t the best part. ^^

Mitsuki’s doctor, Wakaouji-sensei, heard of a specialist, residing in America, who can perform a surgery that would not destroy vocal chords. Hearing that, Wakaouji-sensei, Mitsuki, and Mitsuki’s manager, Ooshige-san, went to America for a check-up and of course, grabbed the moment to see Eichi.

And so came the climactic moment, after a bit of investigation, they finally found Eichi’s residence. Mitsuki was determined to tell her feelings to Eichi face to face after so many years.

Now this is the best part, the video below will show the moment wherein this series has made its place in my heart. I hope you get to appreciate it as much as I do. ^_^

Myself by Full Moon

I am currently watching a new DVD series titled Full Moon o Sagashite. It tells a story about 12-year old girl dreaming to be a singer so her feelings would reach her first love, currently residing in the states. They have been separated for two years and her dream lives on despite a tumor that is growing in her throat. Suddently, two shinigamis (deity of death, messenger of death), came to her room and told her that she has only one year to live. Hearing this news, the girl becomes more motivated to reach her dream within one year.

With the help of some shinigami magic, she became a fast rising star with the on-screen name ‘Full Moon’. Her debut album features a song she composed basing on the feelings for her first love. When I heard this song, I immediately fell in love with it and I didn’t hesitate to download from gendou.com. I’m really happy I even found a acoustic version of it.

I want to share this with everyone. I hope you get to enjoy it as much as I did.

Anime Fanatic on the Loose

I learned that the new employee in our agency is also into anime like me. We got to trade opinions and views on some anime flicks and I suggested to lend him some from my collection back at the house.

So here I am at the office, with my collection of DVDs on my desk and I can’t help but wonder how I was able to collect so much! I guess that is what you call fandom and boy, do I a lot.

I have made a list of the collection I brought with me today (I have another set back at the house!). It’s an inventory of sorts to see what kind of asian flicks I have seen through the years. To view my collection, read the list below ^^
