Had you ever had the time you wanted your own online corner yet you feel limited by the access free servers give you and you don’t have enough means to acquire your own full access control webspace?

I had that moment a long time ago when me and my best friend started scouting for quality web servers at a budget. We ended up purchasing a local server with limited space and bandwidth offer. We had no problems with the space but we didn’t think we would have problems with constant server downtime form our sites. Worse, it was hard to reach our contact person for technical support.

Later on, I had friends telling me that the server we bought had a not-so-good reputation of sorts. If I had the common-sense to do more research at that time and compare other web servers, I might have spared ourselves from the problem. Past is past.

It’s a good thing my best friend meticulously scoured the net for a good server (as I was really busy at that time with work). It is imperative to do your research when looking for your server. Truth be told, almost anyone can purchase a package at minimal costs since servers are sprouting everywhere and their marketing strategies involve selling complete packages at the least possible price.

we have transferred to a better server with fast, quality, technical support and huge space and bandwidth to boot! ^^ We hardly get any problems now.

See? Just a little effort of research is needed to gain the quality cheap web hosting. There are full listings of web hosting available on the net for information. One of these quality web hosting links is http://webhostinggeeks.com/. It compromises of reviews, lists of hosting and development resournces, and they even have their own Best Web Hosting Awards. I have to say, looking at the site right now, I’m seeing a lot of packages providing unlimited space / traffic for as low as $6.95! Imagine that!

Give http://webhostinggeeks.com/ a shot. I bet it will be worth your while. :)

Amazing Bottle Art!

These are examples of putting some ‘zing!’ into something very commonly seen.

These bottles of label art are slicker and more computer-graphicksy. It gives a rough urban edge to the products for more ‘oomph’ and personality.

Free Magazines!

Do you love Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic, Business Week, etc. Are you fond of magazines?

I’ve always wanted to have a nook in my house storing up magazines. Tons and tons of magazines of any subject. But I know I wouldn’t have the time to sort them out or to neatly arrange them for that matter. Plus, the issue about having the money for monthly subscriptions as I would deem wanting. ^^

It’s to my utter delight I found this site that offers free access to various magazines (updated volumes too!). Magazines can be read through a flash based window with neat controls to browse through pages. A plus of this website is its social networking capacity to share magazines, articles, and comments pertaining to a specific page of a specific magazine. Imagine friendster and multiply accounts where discussions focus around magazine topics. ^^

Here are things you could do to a topic or magazine:

1) rate an article
2) leave comments
3) save an article or magazine to your list of favorites
4) share with friends
5) social bookmark a topic
6) email it
7) tag an article
8) search a keyword or within a magazine

At the moment, these are the magazines I deem worthy to read about when it comes to money or income articles.

I think an improvement the creators of this website could do is to have an embed feature wherein users can embed their favorite magazines to their websites. But then, that might entail quite some copyright issues to publications. I’m not sure of it though. What do you think?

Also, if you are going to sign up to this wonderful service, add me up as your friend! :D My account is jasminerose.

Imeem.com, my new haven

I can’t explain it, but I’m having a lot of ‘dull’ moments at work. No, don’t think I don’t love the job. I do! I even had my desktop wallpaper designed with an ‘I love my work’ cup at the bottom right of the screen. I like the co-workers. We all get along pretty well.

I think it’s those silent moments when everybody is too engrossed in their work that sometimes drives anyone crazy. In my case, too much silence makes me sleepy, and when I’m sleepy I cannot think, and that is not good at work. 0_0

I keep myself awake with loud mp3 music from my local hard-drive but the repetitive nature of listening to the same music (I don’t have much saved) can also make me sleepy.

In the course of lazily surfing the net, I stumbled upon Imeem.com. I once visited the site but I never gave each much thought until recently when finding anything new to form a new kind of distraction is a welcome break to the ho-hum afternoon at work. And I searched playlist after playlist of hits from my high-school and college days to bring back nostalgic moments and revive my lost energy to continue my work again. ^^ Ha! Old music pretty much works to uplift any mood.

Not to mention, I found a playlist of complete Disney Love songs. I got a bit giggly over that, remembering romantic moments among Disney characters. I even researched on ‘Top annoying songs’ and ended up playing Mambo No.5 . Livin’ La Vida Loca, Lambada, Macarena, Vengaboys, etc. over and over again in the course of the afternoon, on loud speaker, that everyone else in the office were laughing over my choice of music but were singling along appreciatively. I guess they were grateful too for the temporary disruption of silence. ^^

Ahhhh… music. Where will we be without it?
