Birthday thingys

Well what do you know, it’s that time of the year again when everybody rubs into your face that you have grown a year older… At the same time when everyone tries their best to force you to shell more than you can to give a birthday blowout. Hahaha! Not that I am complaining but in all honesty, my birthdays aren’t something I look forward to. It feels like any other day and I definitely don’t see it as a day of celebration or of mementous impact on my life. True, the blues from past years may have turned me into a birthday scrooge of sorts. Wishful prayers for long life, better health, stability etc., I don’t see why they should be given so much focus when you can wish for those any time of the year. The situation is similar to those who have the habit of making a New Year’s Resolution list. I don’t see the logic in that when anybody can change anytime of the year. Do you really have to wait for New Year to change something in your life?

Ah yes, its thee cynical in me talking again. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful for everyone who greets me. It shows they remember and I appreciate that. But when somebody asks what is my wish, I never tell them my ultimate wish, for fear of it being jinxed. That is how important it is to me. As of now, I am contented to be at the office on this so-called ‘important’ day, listen to the news revolving about the ERAP verdict (that would be another post altogether), drinking my coffee, and finding a solution to this project I’m greatly having trouble with.

Of course, as the usual thing goes, I wouldn’t be able to help but put on a wishlist. XDDD Hey, I’m human too after all, and I am eyeing things once in a while. :-p
