sweets and chocolates ebook

Sweets and Chocolates.pdf; 30mb

I am no chocoholic but I do appreciate the creamy, choco, sweet filled taste and aroma, design and drooling beauty of chocolates. Sometimes, the outward appearance is so appealing, I will eat it even if there was no particular craving at that time. Chocolates do have that certain power to appeal to any individual to take in its sweet flavor. Chocolate reminds everyone of childhood, romance, birthdays, gifts, valentimes etc. You can say chocolate is for everyone, anytime and anywhere. Some best chocolates may tend to be too expensive but oftentimes, they are worth the price and wait before lusciously giving into the sweet temptation. ^_^

Unfortunately, one of my officemates shared this ebook over our network and hell if I don’t share this with others. It’s too sweet and beautiful to not share it! If others could provide links of ebooks in other online networks (have you seen the number of sites featuring a link for an ebook copy of Harry Potter Deathly Hallows?!), why can’t I?! So there, I have placed the link of this ebook, full of home-made, creamy tempting goodness of sweets and chocolates! If only I knew how to do culinary products I would do these but I never really had the inkling and patience. XD

Ratatouille!

Yesterday, I watched Ratatouille with Licorne and we just laughed throughout the movie. Majority of the audience in the moviehouse did. Really, Pixar animation just does a great job of creating feel-good movies I almost always end up watching their creation on the big screen. I think this is a replacement of Disney animated movies I used to expect every year as a child.

Ratatouille tells the story of a rat having the impossible dream to be a chef in a high-end restaurant. He is the complete opposite of what rats are particularly known of. He does not want to get his hands dirty, he craves for ‘exquisite taste’ and not garbage, he has the dream of making everyone realize that he can be a somebody despite society’s perception on his race of ‘filthy rodents’.

He became friends with a human named Linguini, who wants to learn how to cook but lacks the inspiration and talent. Together, they came up with a system to create ‘exquisite cuisine’ that became known in Paris. As any movie, there will always be tribulations between humans and rodents that main characters will have to deal with. But in the end, friendship and family is the key to a fulfilling life and only a dream can spur someone to reach their ultimae goal.

Of course, after watching the movie, me and Licorne just had to eat something after seeing all that food. Well, at least, I HAD TO EAT. LOL

I realy like one main point in the movie though. It doesn’t matter if not all could cook cuisine. What is important is everybody is given the chance to do what they want to do. And as a focal character in the movie, Chef Gustav, stated in this popular book, “Anybody can cook”. Thus, anybody can do anything.

For me, that line meant a lot.

Why I like Japanese dramas / Jdorama

July 28, 2007 by Jasmine

I’m not being biased just because I’m Asian, but seeing flicks and series other than those made by Hollywood or US lets people see the world in the eyes of another. Hollywood or US has already made their stamp in the entertainment world. Don’t you sometimes feel annoyed to see the same things over and over again despite any special effects they may have added? And anyways, didn’t you know that American’s base some of their movies on those from Asia? Remember ‘The Ring’ and ‘The Grudge’? The original movies were from the Japanese. Remember ‘The Lake House’ featuring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves? Its original story is from ‘Il Mare’, a Korean flick.

It was only recently I got into fan mode of purchasing Japanese dramas one after another. Call it a new breath of fresh air or merely trying a genre to pass the time, but it changed a whole lot of my perspective on Asian talents.

The ff are the reasons I can think of why I absolutely adore Japanese dramas:

  1. Great casting. It doesn’t matter if the show didn’t get high ratings but you will always be left something to remember from the actors. I seems they really don’t care about popularity but more of what the audience gets afterwards.
  2. Japanese drama takes great pains on planning. Example, the position of a chair in a living room will not be set in a position so it looks like its never been sat on. Instead, it will look like its placed in such a way so people have actually been using it. This attention paid to detail sets Japanese dramas apart from dramas world wide. (From Hanami Web.
  3. It must be in their culture, but they definitely know how to integrate different genres in one scene. When you say romantic-comedy… it will definitely consists of lot of laughs within romance. It may be their anime culture or something but they definitely have the skill for great storytelling.
  4. The Japanese have a knack of brining into focus the moral of the story without too much emphasis. What I mean is, if the moral is about loving and respecting your elders, nobody has to die before the character realizes that. There are tidbits from daily life that could serve as a turning point. There is no need for heavy twists to get the changes needed in the plot.

This is all I could think of for now but I’m sure others would have other reasons for loving Japanese dramas. For those who haven’t watched even one, you should! You are missing half of your life I tell you!

I have some recos for you to start on if you want. I have seen these and they are definitely worth watching. ^_^
