Nostalgic advertising

NOTE: Unfortunately, the ff fun application could only be played by those who live or had lived long in the Philippines. But if you are the type, who researches anything for fun, maybe you can try to hack all of these ^^ A requirement though, you have to understand Filipino.

I got this excel file from a friend. It contains 200 popular and well-known dialogues or copy ads from various advertising campaigns that happened in the Philippines. What you need to do is guess for which product or brand the copy was made. This will test just how perceptive you are to commercials / ads and just how much impact a campaign did.

This is definitely a must to take. You may feel definitely feel nostalgic of things and you can ask other people (of different age brackets) to help you with those you are not familiar about. This excel application would form a bonding of communication for people. ^^

Much to my dismay, I was able to initially answer only 9.5% of the whole thing! *shame shame shame* If anybody can help me, pleeeeeeeeease give me the answers! XD

You may download the excel file here.

Tattoo ideas

I have nothing against tatoos. Actually, I appreciate its artistic merit. I am actually quite amazed with tattoo ideas that seem to have sprung from different sources. It is an art. I also conceive it as painful art. But art, as I see it, is a genre in society wherein pain is an essence to have an essential and moving piece. But it is art.

Though honestly, sometimes I am scared. I think it’s society’s norm that those who cover their whole body tattos are actually convicts, gangsters, murderers etc. They portray the ‘bad’ side as they say. I find the concept unfair but I can’t seem to pull away from the idea too.

I have friends who have tattos but they only have it on a minimum scale. Just some words, a symbol, a logo, etc. When I find someone with tattos as the one you see on the image, I will be amazed but I can’t easily remove the concept of pain underwent for that art or the possibility there must be something wrong with the person.

I really have to get this concept off me. It’s just totally unfair for those who conceive tattoo as art.

Proms are also for guys

Who said that proms are only for girls?

I’m not really sure just what goes in the minds of guys when this time of the year comes. Though I did fine a few male insights on the topic and well… I never thought it could be placed that way. :)

Guys take this time as the season to be their romantic selves. Though perceived for proms to be mainly for females, for men with girlfriends, this is the moment to show their special someone their romantic sides. They get the excuse of doing perceived ‘cheesy’ stuff girls like. Flowers, chocolates, songs, poems, etc. The prom is the ambiance.

For single guys who has eyeing a girl from afar, it is the moment of truth to finally bring up the courage and approach the girl to ask to the prom. It is the final opportunity before the end of their high-school lives to be with the girl they like. Creativity sometime sets in at these moments when guys do stuff that would make it impossible for the girls to say no.

The prom is a time for guys to experience a new aura or look. From jock or geek to sophisticated and cool. It is the time to wear a tux and feel more mature. The moment to feel how it will be like in the future, in the time of suave courtship of adulthood. And besides, if the girls go all-out to be at their best on the prom, their partners have to do the same to compliment them.

Who does not want to ride in a chic limo eh? It makes you feel a celebirty. It’s the moment to shine. And the prom often exudes the neccessity for it. XD

Guys do dig romance but because of the ‘macho’ image they need to exude, they aren’t provided the freedom to do so. But at prom, no such limitations are expected. And often, the best moments happen in there. A memory to keep. It’s a time to bond with partner or even with friends as a group.

So you see, prom for guys is also a momentous thing. It just shows that guys are aware of what is expected at this time. But more importantly, guys are also sensitive. Don’t mind their ‘macho’ image or whatnots. Society did somehow enforce some image on them, but it does not mean they are completely like that.

Ready for halloween?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m contented with my face. Though I would prefer faces of the likes of Paris Hilton, I’m still okay with it.

But it isn’t wrong to dream right? XD

But I have to admit I am very hesitant to these kind of surgeries. Even if I have the means I might not go with it EVEN if I wanted to. Yea,there is complete irony in what I just said. The best remedy I can think for that is to hire someone to literally push me into a clinic, like in plastic surgeon Naples.

I had a relative from abroad, who came to visit the country a few years ago. They’re my granduncle and grandaunt. I remembered my grandaunt with somehow stitches and dark bulges beneath her eyes. She told us she went to some surgeries to remove heavy eyebags (of should I say sagging eyebags, not really sure though), pull the skin a bit and have normal looking eyebags.

I was amazed by the process but since the skin was still in its healing or rejuvenating process, it didn’t look so appealing. I suddenly imagined myself having those bags under my eyes and I shuddered, thinking I could look exactly like Sadako (especially with my long hair back then). Just give me a pair of contact lens similar to Sadako’s eyes and I will be ready for next halloweens. XD
