Believe me, I had researched, studied and tried some of these internet newsletters to learn and avail of certain affiliations for extra income and resources. Not all delivers though and if they do, they provide too many information with not much layman’s input on them. Thus, boring stuff to understand. Call me lazy but you have to admit that a simple, straight-forward information resource is the best way to go.

So this is where the good stuff comes in. Fireball News Ezine provide such information.

Wordpress Plugins search

It’s only recently I decided to do a total makeover to Widespaces. First, I chose a theme from a wordpress theme directory and opted for whiltem clean, minimalistic look. With the easy part done, I then had to work on the functionality of the blog. That would mean I have to reply on plugins since I have no strong knowledge on php and database programming to edit the wordpress code by myself.

I found tons and tons of plugins to consider. To easily download the right one I decided to do a research on top best wordpress plugins. Thus, I came to this page, titled TOP 30 Wordpress Plugins in Blogosphere.

True enough, some of these plugins were already included in the wordpress theme I chose and they were pretty good.

Unfortunately, due to wordpress’ constant upgrading (which, I hate sometimes but can’t do without since it does involve security issues), I can’t figure out to make some of the plugins work. It seemed some are not compatible anymore the to recent 2.2 version of wordpress and that pisses me of. I had to rely on some later versions of an alternative plugins or just do without.

As of the moment you are reading this post, the plugins below are the plugins currently working in this blog.

1. Ad Rotator: ver 1.0 Rotates Ads randomly from a specified text file By Angsuman Chakraborty.
2. Akismet: ver 1.14 Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web serivce to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use this service. You can review the spam it catches under “Manage” and it automatically deletes old spam after 15 days. Hat tip: Michael Hampton and Chris J. Davis for help with the plugin. By Matt Mullenweg.

Can somebody help me with the latter plugins. They don’t seem to be compatible with wordpress version 2.2. I’m not really sure though.

Google fun!

I got this interesting ebook on having fun with google. I found most of them interesting while some may tend to be quite tedious in methods. Still, I never thought of having this much fun with a search engine. I have to applaud the people who came up with these ideas and I want to share this with everyone on the net.

I already tried some of them. Check out below. ^_^

The act of searching for yourself is also known as “egogoogling.” Here’s a variant of it which can be a fun game. Enter your first name followed by the word “is” into Google, and put the search in quotes.

So I tried searching for my name on Google. Instruction states that you always add ‘is’ after the name (or any other noun) to get the answers. Here’s what came out when I typed Jasmine is:

New Look!

First and foremost, a whole new look for widespaces! Hoooray!

It’s really simple now since I am a minimalist by heart. And I’m also lazy to design anything now. HAHAHA! XD

I haven’t been in this site for a long time. Too many things have been happening simultaneously and there’s no way I’m going to work 24/7 nonstop even if I do have deadlines. It’s either I get my sleep on time and work non-stop afterwards or I do it otherwise and I sleep while doing the job. XD

So here I am, still having plans for the future, especially for the sites. And again, I’m having plans with widespaces, similar to what I have done to Chibilicious. There are stuff I want to add but I have to figure out how to place them in first.

Also, there is an upcoming transferring and renovation that is to happen to the whole of Winglica.com. New features, new look, new goodies to download! So please watch out for it!
